Armed with an eye for interior design and years of experience in the field, Crown and Birch founder Céline Wood launched both a brick and mortar storefront and an e-commerce site in 2019.

With the help of her kids, she considered many names before finally settling on Crown and Birch

Having previously owned and operated The Design Studio in Thunder Bay Ontario, Celine saw an opportunity to create a shopping experience that was uniquely Canadian. She set out to develop a brand that would reflect her vision. With the help of her kids, she considered many names before finally settling on Crown and Birch. Satisfied that the name had a well-established, austere, and Canadian vibe, Céline knew as soon as she heard it that it was the one. “I wanted the name to be something very Canadian. I envisioned something that felt very old, well established, and austere.”

Having started with a different palette in mind, Céline loves that the Crown and Birch brand reflects the products she offers her clients. Despite being a relatively young company, customers comment that the brand feels both cohesive and familiar to them.

“I love that the palette of the logo is reflected in the products offered.”

Crown and Birch opened a second storefront in Muskoka Ontario in July, 2020. This location is frequented by both residents of the area and tourists, increasing exposure to the brand and giving people exactly what they came for – the very best of Canadian design in a sophisticated and inviting environment.
